Short Introduction of Nepalese Cultural Dance
- ARATI: This is religious devotion, dance worshipping goddess “Nrityaswary”.
- DHIME: It is typically dance from Kathmandu valley and it is very popular in Newar community specially the “Jyapu”.
- GHATU: It is carry out by Gurung and Magar community. This dance is quiet famous in Gandaki Zone of Nepal.
- GHINTANG MAI: This is the one of the popular Newari dances from Kathmandu Valley.
- JHANGAD: This popular religious dance of Eastern Nepal in Between Jhangad community.
- JHYAURE: This dance is very popular among boys and girls of Western hilly region of Nepal and of course it is really Entertainment in the hilly areas of Nepal.
- KUMARI: Kumari represents the living goddess and it is one of the major classical dances of Kathmandu Valley.
- LAKHE: A classical mask dance of Kathmandu Valley, performed by only on Newar community on Indra Jatra Festival.
- MANJUSHREE: A traditional classical dance performed by Buddhist priest as the depiction of goddess of Manjushree.
- MARUNI: This dance is performed by Gurung Community, during the Dashin, the national festival of Nepalese. It is most popular in Eastern parts of Nepal.
- PEACOCK: An artist tries to imitate as holy bird peacock, which is considered as a dancer of Indra’s palace and who gets thrilled with sound thunder.
- SHEBRU: This dance is related with Sherpa community in the northern Himalayan region of Nepal.
- TAMANG SELO: It is from Tamang community. The settlers of midland, perform this dance. During the festival or social occasion the Tamang boys and girls do not miss the dance to tease one another and express their feelings.
- TAPPA: This dance is particularly comes from Dang district, the western part of Nepal.
- YAK & YETI: The Yak is very real live domestic animal found in the Himalayan regions providing milk, wool, transportation and many of the necessities of life. Yeti the “Snowman” still exists in the hign altitude of snowny the Himalayan of Nepal.
