About Cultural Theater

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal, some eight kilometers south of central Kathmandu situated on a plateau across the Bagmati river is a lovely little city called Lalitpur, the city of fine arts.

This city also known as patan, once an independent Newar kingdom before the present dynasty took over, is best known for its finest traditional crafts and rish artistic heritage.

This city of Lalitpur divided into 22 municipal words and is inhabited by approx. A substantial portion of its population is engaged in various trades, especially in traditional handicrafts and cottage industries. Lalitpur in fact is the only town in entire Nepal that has produces the highest number of most talented artists and finest craftsmen ever recorded in Nepalese art history. The most famous Newar artist and master craftsmen, like Arniko,  Abhay Raj and Siddhi Raj, were all born in Lalitpur. Similarly, Mr. Raju Maharjan is the youngest son of one of middle class family from the historical city of Patan (also known as Lalitpur). Seeing his devotion towards the field of music and culture, his family gives him full support, as a result of which he is now known as renowned artist after fourteen years of his observation and practice in nepali music instruments and dances.

With his years of experience, with a view to publicize Nepalese Art and Culture.  Its conservation and development and to provide job to the jobless people, he has established Cultural Theater.

Cultural Theater was established in 2012 AD with a noble intention to sharpen and refine art, skill and talent of youth. It provides them lessons on abandoned language, unique art and culture (Dance/Music). It also performs research on traditional customs & communicates the findings preserve & promote local culture.

Cultural Theater is one of renowned institutes in Nepal that has been conducting traditional dance including folk dance and music. Exhibiting the unique Nepalese customs to Nepalese as well as foreigners. It encompasses many talented artists. Cultural Theater present attractive classical folk dance, festival of cultural dance and music at your convent place (In and out of Country).

By this support, we are interested to present such types of appreciated program in your service.

Objectives and importance

Our aim is to conduct youngster to preserve our classical music, festival of cultural & folk dance of Nepal. It’s the cause we just mobiles out effort to teach dance and music.

  • To conserve and promote our Nepali culture.
  • To hunt new talent by making such platform.
  • To encourage youth generation about the development of Nepali cultural as well as tradition.
  • To promote our Nepali Culture to Foreign Country.
  • To provide job to jobless people by promoting them into Art and Culture of our society.
  • To publicize the new products.

Message of MD

When I started to be familiar with life, I found myself in between varieties of culture and then I realized, I need to contribute to preserve own traditional culture in order to Nepal and Nepalese. So, I established Cultural Theater as a way to fulfill my inner desire.

I have been in the field of Nepal Bhasa and Nepalese Literature as I have published six books already.
